The American Bobtail is a breed of cat, registered with
CFA, (Cat Fanciers' association) TICA, (The International
Cat Association), and ACFA, (American Cat Fanciers'
Association). There are bobtails in the general cat
population, but these cats may not look like an American
Bobtail, and may not have the characteristics of a
registered American Bobtail. If you are wanting a
purebred, be sure to buy your kitten from a reputable
breeder, who's cats are all registered with at least one of
the previously mentioned cat associations. It is the only
way you will be assured of buying a purebred cat.
